I first met Sarah & Simon at Framptons wine bar in Ringwood to discuss their Verwood church & Balmer Lawn wedding. A mutual friend had recommended me, who felt my style would suit their wedding plans. Sarah had visions of a timeless, classic wedding vibe. They wanted the day to feel relaxed, but with traditional elements. Whilst looking at my work, they realised I had also captured another of their friend’s wedding – and loved the photos! Like many of my clients, Simon was a little nervous about having his photo taken and not sure about having a pre-wedding photoshoot. After initially deciding not to have one, they later changed their minds and booked in their pre-wedding shoot. I think I convinced Simon that photoshoots can be fun, he may even have enjoyed himself whilst having their photos taken on a forest walk.

On the wedding morning, myself and my second shooter Mia headed over to Balmer Lawn Hotel in the New Forest. Mia captured the guys finishing getting ready and going over their speeches. They then all hopped into the red vintage bus they had hired to get everyone over to Verwood Methodist Church. I spent the morning with the girls and the talented Laura MacKenzie, who (along with assisting opening bottles of pink bubbly) was busy styling the girls hair. Wearing matching pink robes they got ready whilst enjoying bubbles from their personalised champagne glasses. Time quickly went and a few tears were shed as they saw Sarah in her dress for the first time. As the girls left for the church, I stayed to get some photos of the beautiful bride and her Dad. Sarah and Simon really loved their church service, and you could tell by their beaming smiles!
